Title:   High precision three wire Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) measurement.
Abstract:   To accurately measure the resistance of an RTD a four wire connection is required. Industrial RTDs are usually used in a three wire circuit, to simplify wiring and reduce cost.

To be able to accurately measure the resistance of an RTD using a 3 wire connection a dual matched current source circuit is required. If these current sources are not matched a measurement error is produced that cannot be calibrated by software because it will depend on the on site wiring resistance.

The Rejustor based circuit presented in this application note allows to factory adjust the RTD measurement circuit so on site calibration is not required and provides a very accurate measurement of RTDs using only a three wire connection.
